Getting verified

Verification confirms that the person in your photos is you. Verified profiles carry a badge, and people treat them differently — it's the single clearest signal that you're real.

How it works

Start from Settings → Verification. You'll be asked to take a selfie in a specific pose, shown on screen. The pose is the point: it's chosen at the moment you start, so it can't be satisfied with an existing photo or someone else's picture.

The selfie is used for the check. It is not added to your profile and nobody browsing Ontryst sees it.

Getting a clean result

• Good, even light — facing a window beats a bright light behind you.
• Nothing covering your face: no sunglasses, no mask, no hat brim across the eyes.
• Match the pose shown, not an approximation of it.
• Just you in frame.

If it's rejected

A rejection is not an accusation. Most are simply unclear photos: too dark, too blurred, face partly out of frame, or the pose not matched.

You can try again. If it keeps failing on what looks like a good photo, contact support and say what the screen told you.

Why it can matter beyond the badge

Some parts of Ontryst expect a verified profile before you can use them publicly. If something is unavailable and you're not verified, that's usually why.

• iPhone, Android, or web
• what the screen said when it failed
• roughly when you tried

Don't attach your selfie to the email — support can see the attempt on your account already.
