General information about the Ontryst app as listed on the App Store, published here for transparency. This page is informational and is not itself a legal agreement.
Ontryst is a social media platform made for Africa and the Afro diaspora — and open to everyone. Members share a feed of photos, short posts, stories, and voice notes; join or host Zones — communities built around cities, interests, faith, and culture; go live with audio and video broadcasts; and hold real conversations through direct chat and in-app calls. People-discovery is built in: members can meet new people nearby or across the world, for friendship, community, and relationships.
Ontryst launched in Lagos, Kinshasa, and Abidjan and is expanding to additional cities and the diaspora worldwide, localized in 12 languages including Lingala, Swahili, French, and Arabic — built to feel native to where its members actually live.

The Ontryst app is published on the App Store with French as its primary language. The app and its member base also span English, with additional languages supported as the app expands into new markets.

Ontryst is currently available on iOS (iPhone and iPad, iOS 16 or later). An Android version is in development; you can register your interest at ontryst.com/contact.
Ontryst carries an App Store age rating of 17+. The app is a social media service intended exclusively for adults aged 18 and over; the 17+ store rating reflects Apple's content-rating questionnaire for apps that include mature or suggestive themes, user-generated content, and infrequent/mild sexual or romantic content. Age is confirmed during sign-up and enforced by automated and human review of user-generated content.

Ontryst does not license, embed, or otherwise depend on third-party content that we are not permitted to use. Every photo, video, voice note, post, story, and message on Ontryst is created and shared directly by our members, who retain ownership of their own content. Nevolut S.A.R.L.U. holds only the limited hosting and display license needed to operate the Service, as described in our Terms of Service.

Data used to track you — None. Ontryst does not use data to track you across third-party apps or websites.
Data linked to you
Ontryst is currently free, and the mobile app contains no in-app purchases. Every feature — profile, discovery, messaging, calls, posts, stories, Zones, and live — is available to every member at no cost, on both the app and the web. Nothing auto-renews and nothing is billed.
Optional paid plans may be introduced in future, starting on the web. If and when that happens, subscription terms, pricing, trial periods, and cancellation rights will apply as set out in our Terms of Service. Members who purchased a subscription previously can still manage it, cancel it, or ask about a refund — see Is Ontryst free? and payment problems.
Every member confirms they are 18 or older during sign-up, and Ontryst requires selfie-based identity verification before a profile can post publicly, so members can trust that who they see is a real, verified person. All content is subject to automated and human moderation, every profile and conversation carries a built-in Report option, and Ontryst maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation.
