Completing your profile

Ontryst is built around what you post, not just how you look. A profile with only a photo has very little for anyone to respond to.

Photos

Add photos from Settings → Photos, or from the edit button on your own profile.

• Your first photo is your main one — it's what appears in discovery and next to your messages.
• Photos are cropped to a consistent shape, so check the crop before saving.
• You can reorder them at any time; the first slot is the one that matters most.

A clear photo of your face as the main image performs better than a group shot or a distant one, simply because people can tell which person you are.

Voice notes

A voice note is a short recording that plays on your profile. It's the fastest way to sound like a person rather than a set of fields, and it's one of the few things that can't be faked from someone else's pictures.

Record one from Settings → Profile. You can re-record whenever you like.

Prompts

Prompts are short written answers that give people something specific to reply to. A filled prompt is a much better opening than an empty profile, because it gives the other person a place to start.

Profile strength

Your profile shows a completion percentage. It's a nudge, not a score anyone else sees — it simply counts which pieces you've filled in. Getting it high mostly means: several photos, a voice note, and some prompts answered.

What's public

Everything on your profile is visible to people who can see you in discovery. Choose what you're comfortable with in Settings → Visibility — see Privacy and visibility.

Verification

Verifying puts a badge on your profile confirming the photos are actually you. It takes a selfie and a moment. See Getting verified.
