Posts and stories

Posting is how people find you on Ontryst without you having to go looking. It's the "date like you post" part: your feed activity is as much a first impression as your photos.

Posts

A post stays on your profile. People can react to it, comment, and use it as a way into a conversation — reacting to something specific is a far better opening than arriving cold.

Create one from the compose button on the feed.

Stories

A story is temporary. It sits at the top of the feed for a while, then disappears. Stories are for the small stuff — where you are, what you're doing now — precisely because they don't stick around.

You can see who viewed your story.

Who sees what

Each post carries a visibility setting, so you can share something broadly or keep it closer. Check it before posting rather than after — you're choosing the audience at the moment you publish.

Your overall discoverability is separate and lives in Settings → Visibility; see Privacy and visibility.

Reactions and comments

Reactions are lightweight and public to the poster. Comments are visible to whoever can see the post. Either one is a legitimate way to start talking to someone — many conversations here begin that way rather than with an opening message.

What's allowed

Nudity and sexual content are not permitted, and posts are moderated. Profile photos have to be of a real person — you, not a logo, a celebrity, or a stock image. The full rules are in the Community Rules.

If a post of yours was hidden or removed, that's why. You can appeal through support.

Deleting

You can delete your own posts and stories at any time from the post's menu. Deleting removes it for everyone.
