Privacy and visibility

Everything here lives in Settings → Visibility. None of it deletes anything — these are all reversible.

Being discoverable

Discoverable is the master switch. Turn it off and you stop appearing to new people in discovery. Existing conversations continue: people you're already talking to can still reach you.

This is the setting to use when you want a break from being found, rather than a break from Ontryst.

Distance precision

Others see roughly how far away you are, never where you are. You can make that distance less precise if you'd rather not signal a neighbourhood — useful in a small town, where an exact distance says more than you might intend.

Ontryst never shows anyone your address or a pin on your home.

Blocking

Blocking removes someone from your discovery, stops them contacting you, and hides you from them. They aren't told. You can block from any profile or conversation.

Blocked accounts are listed in Settings, so you can undo it.

Reporting

Report from a profile, a conversation, a post or a live broadcast. Reports go to moderation, not to the person you reported. If something breaks the Community Rules, report it rather than only blocking — blocking protects you, reporting protects everyone else too.

Screenshots

Conversations restrict screenshots where the platform allows it. Treat it as a deterrent rather than a guarantee: anyone can photograph a screen with another device.

Your data

You can request a copy of your data, and you can have your account erased. Both are in Settings; the details and timelines are on the delete-account page, and what we hold and why is in the Privacy Policy.
